Memo: A Note to Our Passengers on All Points Transit’s Response to COVID-19

We have been hearing from some of our passengers and their family members, asking what actions All Points Transit (APT) is taking to limit the risk of spreading illness on our vehicles. As always, the safety of our passengers and employees is our #1 priority at All Points Transit.

At this time, All Points Transit is committed to continuing all routes as essential services for our community. We understand that many of our passengers, especially on the dial-a-ride program, fall into the category of “high risk” for COVID 19, as outlined by the CDC. With the wellbeing of our passengers, employees and the greater public in mind, our drivers and staff will be taking extra precautions to limit the spread of novel coronavirus and other illness. Current precautions include:

  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning vehicles. Drivers will be wiping down surfaces with disinfecting wipes at every available opportunity throughout the day, with a focus on high touch areas, such as handholds, handrails and buttons, as well as the driver’s steering wheel, radio and tablet. This practice will continue into the foreseeable future.
  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning other public spaces, such as our office lobby area and transfer station benches. Surfaces will be wiped down at a minimum of twice daily and up to every two hours, as needed.
  • Encouraging passengers and employees to STAY HOME and cancel rides if they are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms and to call their health provider for guidance. If one absolutely needs to travel and has symptoms, they should follow the CDC’s guidelines and wear a mask. We encourage passengers to notify their driver or the APT office if they are experiencing symptoms.
  • Asking staff and passengers to take personal health preparedness steps, which include:
    – Frequent hand washing for at least 20 seconds; use alcohol based hand sanitizer if hand washing is not available.
    – Cover sneezes or coughs; sneeze or cough into your elbow if possible.
    – Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • The APT management team is paying close attention to pertinent resources and is committed to following guidance made available by partner agencies, including the FTA, CDOT, Volunteers of America PACE and our local, clinics, hospitals and public health departments.

If you or your family would like to discuss further concerns or specific rides, call 970-249-0128. Any member of our management team would be happy to talk with you.  You are also welcome to email us at info@allpointstransit.org and we will be sure to respond promptly.
